1. Passengers are not allowed to enter if in the past 14 days they have been in or transited through Angola, Argentina, Bolivia, Botswana, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Eswatini, French Guiana, Guyana, India, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Paraguay, Peru, South Africa, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela, Zambia or Zimbabwe.
2. Passengers must have an approval from the Foreign Ministry of Sri Lanka by sending an email to: entry.permission@mfa.gov.lk
- This does not apply to:
- nationals and dual nationals of Sri Lanka staying in a designated quarantine hotel;
- passengers traveling as tourists.
3. Passengers arriving via "Sri Lanka Tourism" must obtain an approval at https://www.srilanka.travel/helloagain/
4. Passengers must have a printed negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at most 72 hours before departure from the first embarkation point. The test result must be in English.
- This does not apply to:
- passengers younger than 2 years;
- merchant seamen who are nationals of Sri Lanka with a Seamans Discharge Book. They must transfer directly from the ship to the airport.
5. A completed "Health Declaration Form" must be presented upon arrival. The form can be obtained at https://www.caa.lk/en/special-notices-for-covid-19 or upon arrival.
6. Passengers are subject to a COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival.
- This does not apply to passengers younger than 2 years.
7. Passengers are subject to quarantine for 14 days. More details can be found at https://www.epid.gov.lk/web/ or https://www.hpb.health.gov.lk/en
- This does not apply to:
- passengers with a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 2 weeks before departure; and the result of the COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival is negative; and they arrive from a country other than Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, India, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia or Zimbabwe. The vaccination certificate must be in English;
- passengers with a positive COVID-19 NAAT test taken at least 28 days and at most 90 days before departure and a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they received at least one dose 14 days after the positive test and at least 14 days before departure. Certificates and test results must be in English.
8. Airline crew of a foreign airline must have a printed negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at most 72 hours before departure from the first embarkation point. The test result must be in English.
9. Airline crew could be subject to a COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival.
