Visa Type

Business Visa

1.Passport:  Passport with a period of validity extending at least three month after the intended date of departure from Latvia or other Member State, containing at least two blank pages, and issued within the previous ten years. Copies of the identification pages and the pages that contain information about previously issued visas. Attach old passports (if any)

 

2. Form:  Visa application form completed online, printed and signed by the applicant.  https://epak.pmlp.gov.lv/NVIS.EService001.WebSite/ApplicationMain.aspx

 

3. Photos: Two photos (size 35mm x 45 mm) must be taken in last 6 month and it should be on white background.  Matt/ semi matt finish with 60-80% face coverage.

 

4. Covering Letter: Covering Letter from employer on company’s letter head stating his name, designation, passport number, purpose, Expenses clause  and duration of the visit and addressed to duly signed by authorized signatory with his name, designation and company stamp and addressed to – The Visa Officer, Embassy of Latvia , New Delhi 

 

5. Invitation letter: Invitation from the inviting company or organization with applicant's identity, The purpose of the journey (meetings, conferences, training or business related events);  The period and place of intended stay. Invitation approved by the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs, see link http://www.pmlp.gov.lv/ The invitation should be dated not later than 6 month prior to the application date.

 

6. Insurance: Travel medical insurance valid for the whole Schengen area and covering the entire period of the intended visit in the Schengen area and additional 15 days - "the period of grace". The minimum coverage of 30,000 EUR including the costs of urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment in case of an illness as well as repatriation in the event of death. Medical insurance policy can be obtained in applicant’s country of residence, or in any other country, or taken out by the inviting person. It is important that the insurance meets all the above requirements. Insurance should be from authorised companies only. Download Form

 

 7. Round trip tickets: The flight tickets must be bought and confirmed by the airway company.

 

8. Proof of accommodation:  Hotel booking and proof of sufficient means to pay for the accommodation.•  Hotel booking is not required if the accommodation is included in the Invitation.

 

9. Proof of sufficient financial means:

 

a) Original private bank account statement showing the movements during the last three months, duly stamped and signed by the bank

 

b) Indian income tax return acknowledgment for the last two assessment years.

 

If the applicant is employed:

 

a)  pay slips for the last three months b) employment contract;

 

If the applicant is a company owner or self-employed:   certificate of registration of the.

New Procedure for Schengen Visa Applications:

Indian citizens travelling to Schengen countries for short-term (max 90 days in 180 days) will have to visit VFS visa application centre personally to provide biometric data (fingerprints and digital photograph). For subsequent applications within next 5 years the biometric data will be copied from the previous visa application included in the VIS.

 

 

There are certain exemptions as follows:

   • Children under 12

   • Persons for whom the collection of fingerprints is physically impossible

   • Sovereigns and other senior members of a royal family, Heads of State and members of the national Governments with their official delegations and spouses) if they travel for official purposes.

    a) Arrange appointment for biometrics at VFS centres as per applicants’ convenience.

    b) Offer expert guidance on the documentation for the relevant visa application.

    c) Provide ‘Meet & Assist’ service at VFS centres by our Schengen specialists (24x7).

Employment Visa

5. OCMA decision: A copy of the decision by OCMA on granting the residence permit.

Retired:

 

a) Proof of regular income generated by ownership of property or business. b) Pension statement for last 3 months.

 

10.For Minors: a) If the minor travels with one parent only, written consent certified by public notary of the other parent or guardian with other parent’s passport copy. (except in case of a parent having the care or custody alone)

 

b) If the minor travels without parents, written consent certified by public notary of both parents or guardian with other parent’s passport copy.

 

c) Birth certificate.

 

11. Marriage Certificate: if spouse name is not mentioned in the passport.

 

12. Certificate from the travel Agency : letter from travel agency confirming all the details and day to day schedule.
