Business Visa

1. Passport: Original Passport with validity of minimum three months and minimum two blank pages for visa stamps.

2. Schengen Visa Application Form : One online filled visa application form back to back printed and signed on column 37 and 38. https://france-visas.gouv.fr/   . and printed along with the registration receipt cum checklist of documents. Applicant needs to carry both Visa application form and registration receipt with barcode for every individual application

3. Photo Specification: Two recent passport size coloured photographs with semi-matt finish, 70% - 80% face coverage, white background and without border (Size: 35mm x 45mm)  Photograph should not be more than 3 months old,scanned/stapled and should not be used in any of the previous visas

4. Covering Letter : Download Here Covering Letter from applicant on company’s letter head stating his name, designation, passport number,the signatory of managerial or executive level giving brief sketch of applicant's itinerary, name, address and email of the company to be visited. . Letter should be signed by the authorized signatory with his name and designation.  a) If applying from Mumbai: The letter should be addressed to– The Consulate General of France, Mumbai.  b) If applying from Delhi: The Visa Officer, Embassy of France , New Delhi.   c) If applying from Kolkata:  The Consulate General of France, Kolkata.  d) If applying from Puducherry: The Consulate General of France, Puducherry .  e) If applying through Chennai Consulate then the letter should be addressed to- The Consulate General of France, Chennai.  f) If applying from Bangalore: The Visa Officer, Consulate General of France,Bangalore.

5. Please Note: Post visa processing, VFS will courier the passport directly to the applicant with an additional cost. Therefore, need to mention the complete dispatch address on the covering-letter.

6. Invitation Letter: Copy of Invitation Letter from French host / inviting Company on its letter head stating the purpose of travel and duration of stay and should be duly signed with signatory’s name and designation.

7. Financials 
a)  Personal I.T.R for last 3 yrs  (If applying from Mumbai: ITR should be for current year only)
b) Personal Bank Statement for last three months on A4 size paper only (If applying from Mumbai: Bank statements should be for 6 months)
c) Salary slip for the last three months

8. Proof of Occupation 
a) Copy of Company Registration Certificate / Certificate of Incorporation is required
b) Brief Company Profile

9. Proof of Accommodation : Confirmed Hotel Reservation.

10. Airline Reservation : Ticket Itinerary
Please Note: The travel itinerary should be after 5 -7 days from the date of submission of application.

11. Medical : Copy of Medical travel Insurance for the stay duration amounting to 30,000 Euros 
Insurance should be as per the travel dates.

New Procedure for Schengen Visa Applications:

Indian citizens travelling to Schengen countries for short-term (max 90 days in 180 days) will have to visit VFS visa application centre personally to provide biometric data (fingerprints and digital photograph). For subsequent applications within next 5 years the biometric data will be copied from the previous visa application included in the VIS.


There are certain exemptions as follows:
   • Children under 12
   • Persons for whom the collection of fingerprints is physically impossible
   • Sovereigns and other senior members of a royal family, Heads of State and members of the national Governments with their official delegations and spouses) if they travel for official purposes.

Please Note: The travel itinerary should be after 12-15 days from the date of submission of application.

6. Note: Indian nationals going to any European Union country including UK and Ireland, Canada, USA and Japan are exempted from airport transit visa if they hold valid visa and return ticket for one of these countries.

5. a) If you are seeking employment in France: It is up to your employer to submit an application to DDTEFP(Ministry of Labour at the regional level) for an employment contract. 

If the application is accepted, DDTEFP will then forward the file to OFII (French office for immigration and integration) for final approval.

6. Medical:  Insurance for  long term  must cover entire stay  for at least maximum of 1 year.

9. Hotel Booking : Copy of Confirmed prepaid hotel reservation for the entire period of stay as per the tour itinerary
Please Note: Hotel should match the ticket dates and maximum stay should be in France

10. Airline Reservation : Return Ticket
